Wedding Blues

I just cant seem to stop buying stamps at the moment.  I got a couple new sets through this week, amoung them my very first Tilda and Edwin from Magnolia so I'm looking forward to trying them out.

I also got the Wedding Tots set from Woodware.  I've wanted this set for a while so when it was half price on Crafts U Love, well, I just couldn't resist!

As mentioned the stamp and sentiment at from the Wedding Tots set from Woodware, coloured with promarkers.  She has some icicle stickles on her dress and a tiny pearl on her tiara.  The brads are old papermania ones from my stash and the border was cut using one of the Martha Stewart border punches.

The paper is from DCWV spring stack.  I picked this up for a bargain a couple of months ago - 180 sheets...£3.95! from my local Hobbycraft.  Seriously, £3.95!  Got the glitter stack as well for that price and it has some gorgeous designs, all embossed and glittery.

Forever Friends Freebies!

I'm really going for it with these challenge cards at the moment.

This one is for;

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 115
Forever Friends Challenge on the Docrafts forum

Square white card blank.
Free My Minds Eye paper mounted on green card.
Free My Minds Eye paper mounted on reddish card.
Green organza ribbon with a teal green mounted on top (cut from the inside of a tshirt).
Forever Friends image (freebie) coloured with ruby, dusky pink and vanilla promarkers.
Stamped with my new Memento ink pad.

Early morning make.

I should really be getting some sleep but I'm wide awake, feeling crafty and on the lookout for meteors...sadly its a bit cloudy over Edinburgh tonight/this morning.

Isnt it cute?

Ivory card base, DCWV paper (Spring Stack) mounted on brown card, Daisy and Dandelion image (Bramble?) and sentiment, as well as Inkadinkado flowers and some bling from my stash.

The flower was inked up, coloured (cool aqua and pastel blue), cut out and then slotted together by cutting to the centre of each and then fitting them together.

Real happy with this one :)

Life's a Beach

I would love to be on a beach somewhere, sipping on an exotic cocktail and enjoying the sun.  Well, either a beach or Las Vegas.  Its now over a year since I was there and I cant wait to go back, and hopefully soon.

As it is we've been enjoying some thunder storms today.  Some people mgiht hate them but I love a good thunder storm.  Always reminds me of Orlando and the family holidays, as well as the summer I spent working there.

This is the card I've been working on this afternoon.

Its a piece of blue/green paper from the Hopscotch collection from K&Company mounted on a sheet of dark green paper and affixed to a square white card blank.  The same colour of green is used to mount the image (from CUP designer Lee Jacobs and coloured with buttercup, sky blue, dusky pink, leaf green and ruby promarkers), the sentiment (Inkadinkado) and the centre strip.  The ribbon (a light blue which doesnt show up well on camera) and the tiny pearls (blue and white) are from my stash.

I am entering this in;

I also issued a personal challenge to myself to use a piece of patterned paper from my stash...I sorta managed it!

Baaa!

My new stamps came through from Elzybells (so sad that she is closing down) and I've spent the afternoon having a little play!

The arrival of these stamps also means that I am able to enter the latest challenge over at My Time to Craft - Farm Fever!

As mentioned the stamped image of the sheep, as well as the sentiment, are from Elzybells "Jump for Joy" set (on sale at the moment) and the ribbon is from my stash.  I used Promarkers for the colour (Power Blue, Lime Green and Canary) and Icicle Stickles.

Its a plain and simple card but looks really nice.  Especially with the extra sparkle the Stickles provide.

This card, and the others I have made recently, are going to a sale at my Grandads nursing home.  Hoping they raise some money!

On a roll!

I managed to roll out another card last night (as well as several variations of the card in the last post).

Yum!  I took a blank white card and covered it first with a piece of brown card and then ligh blue.  I tied a length of ribbon to the side nearest the fold (ribbon from Cuddlybuddly) and affixed four cupcake glitter stickers to the light blue coloured card before matting them on the brown and lining them up beside each other.  Its not very clear but the cakes and the wording are glittery which add an extra sparkle.

My favourite thing about this card has to be the ribbon.  I just love the colours together!

Clean and Simple

I honestly thought that when I had a desk and a designated craft space, that I'd be able to find everything  I wanted and had for crafting.

Yeah right!  Currently lost my scissors as well as having misplaced a set of spellbinders and some stamps in the major clear out I had.  Hoping that I'll come across them soon.

This card was made for the 102 Clean and Simple Sketch over at their blog.

I used a plain white card blank, three stamps from a Dovecraft' Studio G set that I bought yesterday (stamped with black Ink It Up and coloured with the "Ruby" promarker) and finished off with a length of black ribbon (also from Dovecraft and bought yesterday).

I moved the sentiment since I put the ribbon under the images, and the stamping didnt come out as clear as I would have liked but its the small inperfections that make a hand made card.  Or so I think.

July CUP Competition

I've entered the July CraftsUPrint competition with the only card I have blogged about on here (at the moment).  There are 160 great entrys and I have no idea where I'll place, but any votes you could give me would be great :)

You can vote once a day per ip address, so sadly no extra votes by moving to the spare computer but if you do find yourself somewhere with a different internet connection, well , I wont say no to an extra vote or two!

First Post!

Sitting here, a couple of weeks after I had set it all up, I thought it might be a good idea to actually post something on my new blog and get it kick started.

Just one card from a set of Wedding cards that I'm in the process of making and hoping to sell for charity.

The above card is made from a simple square card blank (white, though I'm going to be doing some in cream and gold) covered with some LLB Retro Rose vellum.  I matted some white card on silver mirror board and attached both the decoupage image (my first EVER!) and sentiment.

The decoupage image can be bought from CraftsUprint (follow the banner!) and is from designer Lee Jacobs.  I just love his Doodles!
